This article consists of two parts; the first part suggests a few tips make routines workable and the second part suggests a workable Kids Daily routine for toddlers.
Routines are hard to create and even harder to maintain yet they make parenting easy later on. Kids learn to do the right things at their particular times if routines are in place.
When it comes to setting your kids’ daily routine, preschooler and toddler age is the perfect time to introduce a healthy, activity-filled, practical daily routine. No doubt that routines are important right from the beginning of a baby’s life, but at the ages of 2 to 4 years, kids’ daily routines can be incorporated with many new productive activities.
Suggested Kids’ Daily Routine for Ages 2-4 Years

7 am | Wake up & freshen up (Brushing teeth, taking bath, combing hair, dressing up) | A good start is a sign of a good day ahead. |
7:30 am | Breakfast | A healthy easy breakfast is a must. This will lead to the next successful action. |
8-9 am | Independent Play with a moderate supervision | The times depend on kids’ attention span, they might need a different play every ten minutes |
9:30 am | Snack time | Fruits and steamed vegies could top-up the energy levels |
10:30 am | Outdoor play or going for a walk | Outdoor play is an effective communication of kids with nature and the world outside |

12:30 pm | Nap time | A power nap of 30 minutes, or as per your child’s need, relaxes them and they tend to be less cranky |
2:30 –3 pm | Snack time | Toddlers can be fed every two to three hours |
3:30 pm | Health Screen time | Supervised screen time can be a child’s best time with parents |
4:30 pm | Clean up Time | Clean up the kids’ room, you may like to play or sings the song ‘Clean up” as a reminder |

6:30 | Bath time | Make it fun with a little water fun and put on their favorite PJs as the reward for following the routine effectively |
7 pm | Read some story | It is the best time to talk about your kids’ day, discuss their feelings and also connect with them |
7:30 | Bedtime | Toddlers can usually sleep for as long as 10 to 12 hours. |
